Aces and Eights Video Poker

Aces and Eights is a variation of Jacks or Better.  This game is played with a 52 card- deck.  As a video poker game having only 52 card options helps you determine your winning chances for the better payouts.  In this game you are dealt 5 cards once you have placed your bet.  These five cards need to make the best poker hand that you can.  If any of the cards are unfavourable, you can exchange then once.

Playing Tips

With Aces and Eights you have the option of holding the first five cards you are dealt or holding just the cards you need.  You can only exchange cards once.  For example, if you have a pair of aces you would want to hold those and exchange the other three cards.  If you have the potential for a Royal Flush and need one card you can hold four and exchange one.  With Aces and Eights you are going to get a higher pay if you have four of a kind in Aces or Eights, hence the name.  You can also get a higher payout for four of a kind in 7’s.  The guaranteed payout happens for anything that is Jacks or Better

You should always bet a max of 5 coins to get the extra jackpot.  The jackpot is offered when you hit the Royal Flush.  According to the payout table you get 4000 coins for hitting the Royal Flush on the bet max.

You should not break up a winning hand, unless you have four cards that will lead to a Royal Flush.  If you have a pair or Jacks or better this offers a payout.  You are guaranteed a payout for anything more than a pair and of course the better the pair or hand the better the payout.  If you have three cards and one is a pair that could lead to a Royal Flush you shouldn’t break up the winning pair.

See the payout table below for your winning odds.
